What Does the Lake Lanier Association (LLA) Do?
The Lake Lanier Association disseminates relevant information to its members through regular membership meetings and newsletters; it conducts hands-on programs for its membership to participate in preserving and monitoring the lake; it represents its members’ interests in private, corporate and government sectors, and strives to obtain a greater voice in the overall management of Lake Lanier.
- Acts to prevent the deterioration of the shoreline and the watershed
- Works with all regulators to preserve the rights of all the lake’s users by offering expertise and facilitating dialog
- Organizes and manages an annual Shore Sweep clean-up involving hundreds of volunteers who remove an average of 35 tons of trash lake-wide
- Manages an Adopt A Lake program with volunteers regularly collecting water samples to monitor the lake’s water quality
