Since my last report we’ve had boats out on trips everyday and the fish are moving to a more summertime pattern. Downline bluebacks fished 25-30 feet deep over a 35-60 foot bottom have produced well this past week. Some of these fish have been on and just off points, but we are beginning to see better size schools in the mouths of deeper coves over a 60 foot bottom.
Capt. Mack’s 4 arm u-rigs trolled 50 feet out at 3.0 mph, over points have produced good numbers. On days that I have had customers that were dedicated to topwater and could fish a Spook properly, we have done well on the bone colored and the blue colored Spooks. Make 8 or 10 casts up on a point or hump with the Spook and keep moving. Be prepared to change it up a little while you are out there for best success, as many things will work.
