Organizations & Agencies promoting protection and stewardship
- Georgia Water Coalition is a group of individuals and organizations working to ensure that the waters of the state continue to belong to the people of the state.
- The Lake Lanier Association is a member of the Georgia River Network, a statewide group dedicated to the conservation of Georgia’s waters.
- Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeeper; the Riverkeeper’s mission is to advocate and secure the protection and stewardship of the Chattahoochee River, its tributaries and watershed, in order to restore and preserve their ecological health for the people, fish and wildlife that depend on the River system.
- The Georgia Environmental Action Network (GEAN) : A collaborative effort among environmental and conservation organizations throughout the state to educate and mobilize their members utilizing a state-of-the-art electronic email alert system.
- Georgia American Boat Operators Course: This boating safety education course is officially accepted by your state boating agency, approved by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) and recognized by the United States Coast Guard (USCG).
