Lake Lanier Association Proposal to Raise Lake Water Levels by Two Feet

The Lake Lanier Association’s Request for raising the level of Lake Lanier by two feet. February 14, 2007:  Both Georgia General Assembly chambers have now reacted to the Lake Lanier Association’s request to raise the full pool level of Lake Lanier from 1071 MSL to 1073 MSL.*

The Senate unanimously passed a resolution on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 asking Congress and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to study the costs and effects of rising the level. The resolution was sponsored by Rep. John Heard, R-Lawrenceville, and Senator Lee Hawkins, R-Gainesville was the House sponsor.
