Stripers
The striper fishing is great on Lake Lanier right now. Our boats are catching fish daily on 1 oz. white jigs with a chartreuse or live blueback trailer, 9 colors out at 3.0 mph, on 27lb leadcore line. Troll these baits over the river channel and in the mouths of southend creeks from the Dam to Browns Bridge. The downline bite is also good when you see your graph loaded up with fish. You can purchase leadcore, trolling combos, and bluebacks at Hammond’s Fishing Center (770-888-6898).
Bass
The bass fishing is good on Lake Lanier right now. Sammies, jerk baits, and smoking green finesse worms will get some bites. The nighttime crank bait and spinner bait bite is decent using the dark red, dark blue, and black colors.
Crappie
We have had many reports of people using minnows around bridges and docks under the Hydroglow light. You can expect to catch crappie, white bass, and small stripers under the light.
