On Saturday, LLA participate in the 14th annual Sweep the Hooch hosted by Chattahoochee Riverkeeper! ๐๏ธ
Over 60 cleanup sites spread across more than 200 miles of the Chattahoochee Watershed - including 3 sites on Lake Lanier! ๐ง
LLA originally set out to host a site at Beaver Ruin, but due to Friday rains making it unsafe for heavy equipment, the volunteers relocated to Longwood Park.
This year marked the first time ever that we were able to incorporate a float removal at Sweep the Hooch! Thank you to the wonderful volunteers that came out to help + our site sponsors:

The Lake Lanier Boat Show has officially kicked off for the weekend! The gloomy weather has cleared up, and the sun is shining for a day of fun โ๏ธ

It looks like we are in for a rainy evening!๐ง Along with the rain, comes an important update regarding the Sweep the Hooch sites.
๐จBeaver Ruin site is CLOSED! This location gets very muddy and conditions will not be safe for heavy equipment operation. There are still two available sites to drop off dock floats and volunteer to remove trash.๐จ
