On Tuesday, April 23rd, the Lake Lanier Association attended the Georgia Department of Natural Resources - Georgia DNR and Rivers Alive Annual Award Ceremony for 2023 cleanup efforts across the state of Georgia! 🗑💧🌿
LLA is proud to be recognized as the Non-Profit Award receipient for our Shore Sweep efforts in 2023 which included 1,600 volunteers, 16,000 pounds of trash and 6,400 volunteer hours! The award is crafted from a repurposed glass bottle removed during the cleanup. ♻️ LLA will proudly showcase this award in our office and have it on display next weekend at the Annual Member Celebration!
This award feels extra special as we celebrate Earth Day and National Volunteer Week! 🌎🤝 We'd like to give a special THANK YOU to the 1,600 volunteers that participated in the 2023 Shore Sweep for helping LLA keep the shores of Lanier clean and beautiful -- and make an impact that is recognized state-wide! 💙
Special Thanks to our 2023 Shore Sweep Sponsors that also helped make this possible!
