He graduated from the University of Georgia where he received both a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and a Master’s degree in Plant Pathology. Prior to his position in Hall County\, Garrett worked for six years in the USDA Toxicology & Mycotoxin department in Athens where he conducted research. He grew up in Oconee County. He enjoys backpacking\, raising and showing livestock\, attending UGA football games\, and plays upright bass in his family’s bluegrass band.
