Sweep the Hooch- LLA Hosts the Laurel Park Site for 2023
March 25, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
LLA has teamed up with Chattahoochee Riverkeeper to host a cleanup site as part of Sweep the Hooch 2023.
Laurel Park is a *NEW* Shore Sweep site every year, that is why we choose to focus on this location during the Spring and we need your help. If you can not join us at Laurel Park check out the other locations around the lake. There are lots of opportunities for walkers, paddlers and boaters!
Volunteer Opportunities:
- Register to cleanup on Saturday, March 25th. See the link below.
- We want to organize the effort and need to scout out the trashiest locations. This is where we need some additional help. Do you have a boat that is not winterized and live near or are willing to travel to the Laurel Park area? Are you willing to schedule a time to take a couple people on a tour of the area and shoreline? Or
- Do you have a jet ski and are willing to scout on your own and send pin drops and photos? If you answered yes to either of these options, please email your availability in mid-march to [email protected].
Sweep the Hooch is an annual watershed-wide trash cleanup organized by the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper that brings together hundreds of volunteers each year at dozens of parks, tributaries, and access points along the Chattahoochee River. Sweep the Hooch sites can be found from Helen down to West Point Lake and beyond.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT DOCK FLOATS: Participants can bring dock floats to Laurel Park and Holly Park during Sweep the Hooch. 9am-12pm ONLY.
