Meet Nancy Brown

LLA’s New Office Assistant

 

The LLA team is growing! We are excited to announce the addition of Nancy Brown, Office Assistant, to the LLA team. Prior to Nancy filling this role, LLA has been able to accomplish all of our many initiatives through a very active volunteer Board of Directors and two full time staff members. Nancy’s position fills a part-time administrative need to help us maintain our office space and will allow LLA to make an even greater positive impact on Lake Lanier. Keep reading to learn more about Nancy and her excitement to support the mission of a Clean, Full and Safe Lake Lanier.

Nancy Brown was named Office Assistant in March of 2025. She received her bachelor’s degree in communications, with a minor in journalism from Albion College in Michigan. She has been in the Atlanta area since ‘86 and has been enjoying everything Lake Lanier has to offer for over 20 years.

Nancy’s love for non-profit work started in college one summer when she interned at United Way. Her experience there, led to her first job, at United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta. Life directed her career to the insurance industry, and after many years in that field, she decided to pursue her passion for non-profit organizations once again.

She decided she was not getting any younger, and wanted her job to be fulfilling and purpose driven. So, she began job searching for an opportunity in the non-profit industry. That passion combined with her love for Lake Lanier, makes her a great addition to the LLA team.

Nancy has one son, Ian, who started his own business in high school. Now, at age 31, he is the proud owner of Mashburn Marine on Lake Lanier. She enjoys spending time with Ian and helping him grow his business. Nancy also enjoys spending time with her rescue dog, Zena, or playing tennis and pickleball. She can often be found enjoying a meal at Skogies’ or hiking, gardening, and enjoying time in the great outdoors.
