There is some pending work that will be done on Lake Lanier in the vicinity of Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources Lanier Raw Water Pumping Station on Woodlake Drive off of Buford Dam Road.  The current raw water intake and pumping station is in the design stage of planned improvements of the raw water intake pipes.  To support the design efforts, Gwinnett County has hired a geotechnical firm to take borings of the lake bottom near the existing piping. The contractor, S&ME, will be performing the work with a tentative start date of July 6th pending permitting and weather conditions. Gwinnett County has mailed a letter to residents in the area, but has also asked the Lake Lanier Association to assist in getting the word out to the general lake population.
