Kristin O’Callaghan was named Community Engagement Coordinator in July of 2025. A California native, she relocated with her family to Gainesville from Sonoma County in the spring of 2021 and resides on the north end of the lake with her husband (Jake), son (Cash, 18), daughter (Finley, 17), and dogs (Willie, 12 and Deebo, 3). In her free time, she enjoys cheering her kids on in their athletic endeavors (Cash is a freshman at Delta State University in Mississippi where he plays football and Finley is a senior and two-sport athlete (lacrosse and softball) at GHS), boating, floating, swimming, reading, writing, volunteering, and traveling.

She earned a BA in Sociology with a Thematic Minor in Organizational Communication, Industrial Psychology & Human Resource Management from the University of Arizona and has lived in six different states (California, Arizona, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Idaho, and Georgia).

A seasoned and mission-driven leader in nonprofit operations and community engagement, Kristin thrives in both public-facing and operational roles and brings over two decades of experience advancing causes through strategic communication, volunteer mobilization, and stakeholder collaboration. With a career spanning grassroots advocacy to executive leadership, Kristin has consistently delivered high-impact programs, cultivated donor and partner relationships, and led diverse teams to success.

Most recently, Kristin has served as the President and Principal Writer of FrontRunner Resume Writing & Career Services, where she has helped thousands of professionals across industries articulate their value and advance their careers. Her background also includes operational leadership as Co-Owner and Office Manager of Sonoma Marin Plumbing, where she oversaw day-to-day business operations, human resources, financials, and customer relations.

Earlier in her career, Kristin served as Regional Development Director for Special Olympics Northern California, overseeing a 24-county region from Sacramento to the Oregon border, raising nearly $500,000 annually, and earning recognition as “Fundraiser of the Year.” She has also held multiple roles, including Director of Marketing, Director of Sales, and Senior Promotions and Special Events Manager, among other titles, for three AAA baseball teams (the Sacramento Rivercats, Nashville Sounds, and Tucson Toros/Diamondbacks) over a span of 8 years —developing a unique blend of strategic vision and boots-on-the-ground execution.

Rooted in a strong commitment to local advocacy, Kristin is a passionate community volunteer with leadership roles in multiple youth sports and school organizations across Georgia and California.

Her love of and appreciation for the lake and the surrounding community, coupled with her expertise in fundraising, volunteer coordination, customer service, marketing, content creation, and business and administrative management, makes this a perfect pairing.
