Meet Hailey Merlo

LLA’s New Programs Coordinator

 

We are excited to announce a new role within the LLA team and welcome Hailey Merlo as our Programs Coordinator. Hailey joined the LLA team part-time in early July and has already been supporting LLA’s on-lake programs such as Shore Sweep, Water Quality Testing, and Life Jacket Loaner Stations. Hailey’s time on the LLA team is already starting off strong and we’re looking forward to all she will contribute to the Clean, Full, and Safe Lake mission.

 


Hailey Merlo was named Programs Coordinator in July 2026. As the daughter of a military family, Hailey spent much of her childhood moving around the country before her family settled on Lake Lanier during her high school years. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a concentration in Advertising and Public Relations, along with a minor in Marketing, from the University of Arkansas. A proud Razorback, she remains an enthusiastic supporter of Arkansas athletics. Woo pig!

Following graduation, Hailey relocated to Austin, Texas, where she spent seven years building and operating her own photography business. As a business owner, she developed expertise in marketing, client relations, project management, branding, and event coordination while working with a wide range of individuals and organizations.

Now back on Lake Lanier, Hailey is excited to combine her communications background, entrepreneurial experience, and love for the lake in support of the Lake Lanier Association’s mission. As Programs Coordinator, she helps plan and execute programs and events while working alongside members, volunteers, and community partners to protect and preserve Lake Lanier.

Beyond her role with the LLA, Hailey’s family is committed to giving back to the community through Keep Forsyth County Beautiful’s Adopt-a-Road program, maintaining their adopted roadway as Make Waves Merlo. Their volunteer efforts reflect a shared commitment to keeping the Lake Lanier community clean and beautiful. 

When she’s not at work, you’ll likely find Hailey on the water wakesurfing, spending time with friends and family, or cheering on the Razorbacks.
