Meet the Spring 2026 Interns!

The Lake Lanier Association (LLA) is excited to host college and high school honor’s students, through an internship program, to help the next generation of professionals hone in on their marketing, program management, and interpersonal skills before their post-grad adventure begins.

For the Spring 2026 semester, we are pleased to officially announce our second semester of the LLA internship program and welcome Emma back for the Spring semester, as well as three new interns to our team. LLA’s Board of Directors and staff are pleased to announce Emma Bredfeldt, Audrey Watkins, Addison Chapman, and London McDaniel as our Special Events and Marketing Interns!

Each of these students will get hands-on, real-world experience in a non-profit setting. This semester they will actively participate in social media and email marketing campaigns, special events, like community presentations and the Annual Member Celebration. They are invited to engage with our community partners, sponsors and donors – just as any staff member would do. The LLA team is excited to share our passion for Lake Lanier and our on-lake programs with these students.

Be on the lookout for Emma, Audrey, Addi, and London at LLA events and in-office; we hope you have an opportunity to meet these bright, young professionals while they are on our team! We invite you to get to know them through their bios below.

EMMA BREDFELDT

Returning to the LLA team from Fall 2025! Emma Bredfeldt is a Senior at the University of North Georgia majoring in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations.

Originally from Gainesville, Florida, she moved to Gainesville, Georgia, to pursue her studies. Emma first fell in love with the North Georgia mountains during visits to see family in Dahlonega. While the two Gainesville cities share a name, Emma is proud to call Georgia her new home. Having always lived near the water, Emma developed a deep appreciation for its importance, a connection that only grew stronger through time spent in and around Lake Lanier.

Throughout her time at UNG, Emma has taken on several leadership roles, including serving as Social Media Coordinator for Lambda Pi Eta Communications Honor Society and Vice President of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA). In these positions, she focuses on social media strategy, event planning, and member engagement while also supporting the chapter’s growth through organizational management.

Emma has developed a strong foundation in public relations through hands-on experience. She is excited to continue building her skills by working on projects with the Lake Lanier Association and contributing meaningfully to the local community. In her free time, she enjoys exploring local coffee shops and spending time at her favorite Pilates studio.

ADDISON CHAPMAN

Addison Chapman is a senior at the University of North Georgia majoring in Public Relations. Originally from Kennesaw, Georgia, she grew up spending her weekends at Lake Allatoona, where she developed a lasting appreciation for time on the water. She now lives in Athens, Georgia and works for a red-light therapy studio, helping members find healing and growing engagement through social media.

Through her studies at UNG, Addison has developed a strong foundation in communication, storytelling, and public relations strategy. As an intern with the Lake Lanier Association, Addison is excited to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit communications while expanding her connection to North Georgia’s lake communities.

After graduation, she hopes to pursue a career in public relations where she can combine strategic communication with community-focused initiatives. In her free time, she enjoys being on the water, volunteering at the local Humane Society, or spending time with friends and family. She is looking forward to the opportunity to support a clean, full, and safe lake as an LLA intern this semester!

LONDON MCDANIEL

London McDaniel is a senior at Cherokee Bluff High School and a proud lifelong resident of the Flowery Branch area. She plans to continue her academic journey in college, pursuing a degree in Business Management with the goal of one day owning and operating her own business.

Throughout high school, London has developed a strong passion for community involvement and service. She has participated in numerous outreach initiatives, giving back by providing food and blankets to individuals experiencing homelessness and volunteering at her local assisted living community to offer companionship and support. These experiences have shaped her belief in the importance of service and meaningful connection.

As an intern with the Lake Lanier Association, London is excited to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit event planning and organizational operations while deepening her connection to the Lake Lanier community. In her free time, she enjoys spending time at the lake with friends and family, playing tennis, and exploring creative pursuits.

AUDREY WATKINS

Audrey Watkins is a senior at the University of North Georgia majoring in Communications with a focus in Public Relations.

Originally from the Atlanta area, Audrey moved to Athens to pursue her education, where she further developed her passion for community engagement and nonprofit advocacy. Throughout her academic and professional career, she has gained experience working with nonprofit organizations such as Three Dog Rescue and the Athens Humane Society, where she has also volunteered.

In addition to her nonprofit work, Audrey has built hands-on experience in marketing and content creation through her time at Beem Light Sauna and as a content creation intern with the Penelope Road Band. These roles have strengthened her skills in digital storytelling, brand promotion, and audience engagement across platforms.

Through her internship with LLA, Audrey hopes to gain more hands-on experience in nonprofit communications, including marketing strategy, social media, and email campaigns. In her free time, she enjoys taking walks outdoors, spending time on the water, and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.
